Barack Obama Says Renewables Are the Future

The German newspaper "Welt" reports that US President Barack Obama believes Germany to be a poineer in renewable energies. He wants the US to invest in renewables, too.

During yesterday's presidential debate, Obama stated that Germany has invested considerably in renewable energies. The US, he said, should refrain from a short-sighted policy and rather focus on investing in renewable energies.

He said: "We've got to control our own energy. We will be investing in solar as well as wind energy and biofuels." Obama also made clear that the sector of renewable energies would create a lot of jobs worth investing in.

The prize of energy and the promotion of renewable energies is central tp the presidential debate. Romney rather stands for the oil and gas industry whereas Barack Obama is pro renewables.
