Grazia Barchi, senior researcher, Institute of Renewable Energy at European Research Academy in Bozen, Italy

Grazia Barchi received the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Perugia, Perugia, Italy, in 2011. In 2015, she received the Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Trento, Trento, Italy. Between 2010 and 2011 she was at the University of Applied Science of Western Switzerland in Fribourg, Switzerland, within the Socrates-Erasmus project.

In 2014 she received the GMEE scholarship for young researchers studying abroad to be a visiting researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA.

From 2015, she is a senior researcher in the photovoltaic system group at the Institute of Renewable Energy at European Research Academy in Bozen, Italy.  
Her research interests include smart grids measurement issues, signal-processing algorithms for energy-related applications, distributed measurements techniques in power networks and renewable energy integration. She is co-author of about twenty papers on international conferences and journals.



CommONEnergy Project: Retrofitting Shopping Centers to Reduce their Energy Consumption and Improve the Customers’ Experience”  

Opportunities for photovoltaic and energy storage systems in shopping malls within the CommONEnergy EU FP7 project
The talk will present an overview of the CommONEnergy EU FP7 project, whose main goal is to re-conceptualize shopping malls through deep retrofitting based on a comprehensive systemic approach. This involves innovative technologies and solutions as well as methods and tools to support their implementation. The focus of the talk will be on the integrating modelling environment and on the assessment of dynamic solutions to increase “green-energy” production, with an analysis about the combination of photovoltaic and energy storage systems in shopping malls.
