The New Strategy with New Legislative Waste Targets

Milda Basiulyte will talk about the newly published Circular Economy package. FEAD welcomes the publication and believes that the proposals contain a number of positive elements. However FEAD regrets that the package did not propose strong regulatory “pull” measures to stimulate demand for SRMs. Such measures would include mandatory requirements for recycled content and recyclability of selected products, for eco-design, producer responsibility, and green public procurement; and the use of economic instruments to encourage uptake of SRM.
