Smart Buildings – Smart Choice


Smart Buildings Exhibition & Conference is the only specialized event in Bulgaria with a focus on building automation and management systems. It will facilitate the entering of foreign companies into the local marketplace with a growing potential.

Experts from the European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Building Performance Institute Europe, European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, Bulgarian Sustainable Building Council, etc. will take part in the parallel Conference.

The business and the general public in South-East Europe are increasingly aware of the benefits of sustainable construction - cutting energy use, high ROI, low environmental impact, safety and security.

During the last years the conception of smart buildings has made a notable progress in Bulgaria. Several buildings with LEED and DGNB certifications have been realized and some others are in a process of being BREEAM certified. Some of these buildings are: Sofia Airport Center, Business Centre Serdica, Sopharma Business Towers, Building 15 of the Trade Center Europe.

Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE)

The organization is a not-for-profit think-do-tank dedicated to improve the energy performance of buildings across Europe, and help reduce CO2 emissions from the energy used by buildings. BPIE delivers policy analysis and knowledge through studies, policy briefs and best practices. BPIE recently launched two major tools to support the building community. The Data Hub for the energy performance of buildings and related policies in Europe covers energy statistics, information on key legislations, financial schemes as well as building code requirements. Users can access country profiles, search specific parameters, generate overviews and graphs as well as screen the underlying data. The tool allows for cross-country comparisons and cost-free downloads. (www.buildingsdata.eu)

BPIE also published a report on the roadmaps towards nZEB (Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings) in Central and Eastern Europe. BPIE researched and developed an ambitious roadmap for Poland, Romania and Bulgaria which will help these countries progress towards the implementation of nZEB and reduce the energy consumption levels and related carbon emissions. The analysis was based on national building data, economic conditions and existing policies. Reports are available in English and national languages on www.bpie.eu.

Bulgarian Green Building Council (BGBC)

Bulgarian Green Building Council is one of the most significant non-profit organizations active in Bulgaria in the sphere of sustainable development ,green construction and urban planning, official member of the World Green Building Council and International

Board of Directors from the countries from Central Europe.

The Council works towards the development and implementation of the internationally recognized DGNB system for evaluation of sustainable buildings and urban quarters. Among the activities of the organization are creating models for sustainable buildings according to their specific type,  developing proposals for legislative changes, initiatives and incentives for sustainable growth, preparation and discussion of policies at European and national  level, creating specific educational trainings aiming to promote sustainable practices and technologies among the professional community and stakeholders.

Tehnica Instalaţiilor - Specialized Magazine for Installations

Tehnica Instalaţiilor is a specialized magazine, covering the entire range from sanitary, gas, heating, climatization, refrigeration, electricity, automation, safety buildings techniques, fire protection and work protection techniques, each issue presenting the latest novelties through the help given by our collaborators. It has a free of charge distribution nationally, with 11 issues/year and a circulation of 15.000 samples. In addition, we edit the Green Energy Supplement and maintain a web news portal, InstalNews.ro, all in the field of installations.

We attend the most important specialized fairs in Romania (Romtherm, Ambient Instal, RENEXPO South-East Europe, ENREG Renewable Energy, IEAS, etc.), events, scientific and technical conferences, symposia, organized by the partners of the magazine.
