How do innovations save money? New environmentally friendly heating systems from HERZ

Over the years the Austrian company HERZ has become an established specialist for renewable energy systems. Traditionally HERZ Energietechnik and HERZ Armaturen GmbH are a valuable part of the EE&RES exhibition in Sofia. 2019 will not be an exception and visitors from Bulgaria and abroad are welcome to their stand in April (16-18).

Interview with Mr. Anton Voynovski, Managing director from Herz Bulgaria

HERZ Armatura EOOD has been the official representative of HERZ for Bulgaria for more than 10 years. How has the market here developed through the years and how does the company respond to the clients’ demand?

The thinking of the consumers has changed. People think more sustainable. So the thinking goes more and more to CO2-neutral & environment friendly heating systems. Of course the fossil fuel (oil & gas) prices have been very low in the last years but the prices of those are very unstable and can change very fast. On the other side fuels like pellets, wood chips and log wood can be obtained directly from the region and the prices are stable. With the innovative thinking, the service partners and the support for the customers all over the world HERZ covers all points, which are important for a client.

For more and more people it is important to ensure environmental protection through their consumer behavior. Please tell us how HERZ boilers respond to this trend?

In the HERZ research and development center new innovations are tested day by day. The aim of these innovations is to reduce the emissions and to increase efficiency. The best example for such an innovation is the pellet-condensing-boiler pelletstar CONDENSATION 10-60. This product fulfills all these requirements. With dust emissions below 10 mg/m³ and efficiency rates up to 106,7% the environment is saved and also the fuel consumption is decreased. The result is that customers save money.

One of your pellet boilers - HERZ pelletstar CONDENSATION was presented during the last edition of the EE&RES exhibition in Sofia. Tell us what was the feedback and what else will you show this time?

Yes, at the last EE&RES fair in Sofia we presented our new high efficiency (106%) pellets boiler with condensing technology. The interest of the customers was amazing. During the year we received many inquiries and already have some sales in Bulgaria. We are convinced that there will be a big demand in the future, that’s why we decided to do intensive research and development work for such technology. We are happy to announce, that in the next year we will be able to present the first woodchip boiler HERZ firematic CONDENSATION 20/35 with condensing technology on the Bulgarian market too. Furthermore, we will present our Air-to-Air heat pump with inverter technology "commotherm LWi-Split 9-16" for the first time in Bulgaria.

Wood chip boiler with condensing technology - efficiency over 105%
Following the successful market launch of the HERZ pellets condensing boiler in 2016, the first woodchip boiler with condensing technology, the "HERZ firematic CONDENSATION 30/40" in two sizes (with 30 and 40 kW rated output) is now being presented on the market following intensive research and development work. With the innovative product HERZ Energietechnik GmbH already has been awarded with the Innovation Prize of Burgenland in the category for large companies. The woodchip condensing boiler is able to use the so-called "latent" heat contained in the exhaust gas. The use of this heat takes place by the hot exhaust gas, which is cooled down so far that the water vapor condenses therein, while the contained energy (the heat of condensation) is released. This additional heat is added to the heating system. As a result, efficiencies over 105% can be reached and legally required dust emissions can be far undercut! Solutions available on the market offer downstream (ie external) solutions for the use of condensing technology. However, HERZ has integrated this technology in the wood chip boiler for the first time. Increase efficiency and decrease emissions: The heat exchanger surfaces are cleaned automatically via a flushing mechanism (water) as well as via the integrated turbulators. Customers can benefit from significant fuel savings and low-emission combustion technology at the highest level.

Heat pump with innovative inverter-technology
HERZ commotherm LWi-Split: Inverter-heat pump 9-16 kW
The commotherm LWi split air/water heat pump impresses with latest inverter technology. Inverter technology means the compressor of the heat pump is modulating. The advantage is a perfect adaption of the heating output of the heat pump to the actual outdoor temperature. The inverter technology guarantees excellent energy efficiency even at low outdoor temperatures.

HERZ commotherm LWi-Split indoor unit: warm water unit WWU
The WWU forms a compact overall solution of a heating system. It is possible to connect the heating system and the domestic hot water distribution directly on the WWU. Additional to the condenser-heat exchanger, which transports the heat from the LWi outdoor unit to the heating system, there is inside the WWU a high efficient condenser pump with PWM-regulation, a 350 liter warm water boiler, electrical heater, safety group, flow controller and a switching valve for heating/ domestic hot water preparation installed.

The great advantages: Latest inverter technology; highest efficiency in heating, cooling and domestic hot water operation; large domestic hot water tank with 350 liter; Flow temperatures up to 55°C; user friendly 7" touch regulation T-CONTROL II; high performance (COP and EER) thus high efficiency according to EN14511; Compact - flexible installation possibilities; Installation friendly and low maintenance

What would you say to your potential clients who will visit your stand?

Herz is one of the leading European producers of High-End products, which are durable, cost-effective, environmentally friendly. That’s why an investment in HERZ would be worth every penny.
