From planning, development, design and production to service, everything comes from a single source. At its production facilities in Spittal/Drau and Feistritz/Drau in Austria, Lindner manufactures machines and system components that are exported to almost one hundred countries. In addition to stationary and mobile shredders for waste processing, the portfolio also includes complete systems for plastics recycling and SRF processing. The shredders can be used for municipal solid waste, commercial and industrial waste, plastics, packaging material, paper, light scrap and waste wood.
Lindner-Recyclingtech offers system solutions for Alternative Fuel Processing, Plastics Recycling, Waste Wood Processing, Paper and Product Destruction and Metal Recycling. Please tell us more about your shredding systems and how they respond to the bloom of circular economy.
Lindner’s product portfolio ranges from stationary and mobile shredding machines for waste management through to complete systems for plastics and waste wood recycling as well as for SRF/RDF production. Also large projects are designed and executed by Lindner on request. With the aim of always finding the best possible solution for each customer, Lindner places their faith in continuous research and further development of their products. The result: machines and components that are that decisive step ahead – in terms of manufacturing quality, productivity and efficiency. The three modern production sites in Austria manufacture machines and system components that are used in almost 100 countries worldwide.
As recycling in general gains importance rapidly these days, the shredders of Lindner help to cope with the increasing amount of waste worldwide. To protect the environment, the climate and resources, the circular economy must have a future and has to be further developed and promoted. Lindner-Recyclingtech is a company which exports in almost 100 countries worldwide. Based on your experience how do you see the potential of the South-East European market.
What projects have you realized in the region?
Lindner sees a growing potential in the South-East European market and has already realized various projects in this area, e.g. alternative fuel processing projects in the cement industry at Holcim Bulgaria and plants in Varna and Sofia, furthermore in the sector of plastics recycling at e.g. MKD-69 in Sofia.
Recently the company launched new Atlas shredder, designed for productive and economical continuous 24/7 operation. Tell us more about this.
Lindner is responding to the increasing demands placed on the automated sorting of valuable recyclables as well as the ensuing rise in the need among producers of solid recovered fuels (SRF) for pre-shredded yet ideally sortable material.

Designed for very high uptimes (24 hours a day, seven days a week), the ‘ripping twin-shaft shredder’ has a throughput capacity for coarser output sizes and uniform material discharge of 40 to 50 metric tonnes per hour, depending on the feed material, and even up to 70 metric tonnes per hour for municipal solid waste. As a result, more recyclable materials, in particular plastics such as film from mixed municipal solid waste as well as from trade and industry waste, can be collected for recycling.
The impressive throughput capacity is made possible by a special drive concept: The Atlas 5500 twin-shaft shredder is equipped with an e-drive. With a typical electric drive power of 2 x 110 kW, the shredder uses the intelligent energy management system DEX (Dynamic Energy Exchange) to always run on the optimum operating point. When reversing, the shaft changes the direction of rotation three times faster than is the case for a shredder without DEX.
To what of your technologies do you want to draw the attention of the visitors during the 3 days of Save the Planet exhibition? What will be the focus of your participation?
We want to draw the attention of the visitors to our innovative shredding solutions, especially to the system solutions for alternative fuel processing. Lindner provides pre- and secondary shredder for the multi-step processing of premium SRF on the one hand and the very successfully sold Polaris shredder for singe-step processing of RDF on the other hand.
