Professor Alexander Georgiev Georgiev is active in two Bulgarian universities - European Polytechnic University in Pernik and at the Technical University of Sofia. He graduated as Mechanical Engineer (Thermal and Nuclear Energy). He graduated in 1981 at the Technical University of Sofia, Faculty of Power Engineering and Power Machines. He graduated PhD in 1988 at the Technical University of Sofia in "Energy conversion technologies and systems".
There are two specializations in the field of renewable energy sources. In 1992 (12 months) specializes in the town Siegen, Germany in solar thermal installations. For 24 months (from 2001 to 2003) he specialized in Valparaiso, Chile, where he specialized in the field of geothermal energy and sun-tracking systems.
He is a lecturer in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Renewable Energy Sources. He is a leader and participant in university, national and international research projects. There is a team of scientists and PhD students who participate in international congresses and published in international journals (95 articles and one monograph).
He has participated as a guest editor for the journal "Bulgarian chemical communications" (2016.). He is a member of the Bulgarian Geothermal Association. His research interests are: Renewable energy sources, geothermal energy, solar thermal systems.
